City twos were first up against Fidra 2s/1s on Saturday – and this was quite a close encounter in the first half -with only a couple of defensive lapses costing City a couple of soft goals.  City did score one of there own though.  The half time score was 3.1 to Fidra.

Into the second half it was again an evenly fought contest – with Fidra winning this half 2.1 – with Dave Sutton on target for City.  Final score 5.2.

City ones then took on half the same Fidra side – and were on the front foot very quickly – but spurned chances before Fidra went one up.  City got the game back all square before half time though after excellent work by Fraser Graham who stopped the defender from clearing the ball on the edge of the Fidra D – Fraser looked up with the option to shoot – but chose to flick it to Miller who slotted it home.

The second half was mostly Dunfermlines – and City went ahead when down to ten men.  Walker held the ball up well – Miller was played in who played the ball wide to Melrose who played a tremendous ball into the D where Walker was on hand to hit home to give City a well deserved lead.

City then missed chances to increase there lead – and these were to prove costly as Fidra expertly finished off one of their short corner routines.

Final score was 2.2 in an even game – which City probably just shaded – but no one could argue with the point.

Full match reports to follow in due course.
