About Dunfermline City

Dunfermline City Hockey Club is a social and charitable organization that promotes affordable hockey in the city of Dunfermline. Currently, we only have one team, which is an adult men's team that plays in East League Division 3. If you are a male aged 14 or above and are interested in playing hockey, please contact us as we are always looking for new players. We do not currently have any U14 teams or ladies teams, so if you are interested in playing at those levels, please visit the website of the Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club.

Dunfermline City Hockey Club raises £200 to fight for every heartbeat

- Fundraisers Help British Heart Foundation Scotland save lives -

Big-hearted Dunfermline City Hockey Club raised £200 for British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland at their annual Kevin Walker Community Shield tournament, held in August as part of the local sports council’s sport for all week.

Coronary heart disease is Scotland’s single biggest killer. For over 50 years, the BHF has pioneered research that’s transformed the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions. This work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are changing the fight against heart disease. But so many people still need help. From babies born with life-threatening heart problems to the many mums, dads and grandparents who survive a heart attack and endure the daily battles of heart failure. Join the fight for every heartbeat in Scotland. Every pound raised, minute of your time and donation to BHF Scotland shops will help make a difference to people’s lives.

Gareth Edwards said: “We all know someone who’s been affected by heart disease – sadly it touches us all.  We lost our close friend and teammate Kevin Walker in 2013 to the disease and it’s great to know that our efforts will make a difference in fighting for every heartbeat.

In Kevin’s memory, we hold an annual hockey tournament inviting teams from around Scotland to take part for a day of fun filled hockey.  We would like to thank Harris HC, Kinross HC and Falkirk HC for making the tournament such a success and raising such a fantastic amount.”

Lisa Stafford, BHF Scotland Fundraising Volunteer Manager said: “We’d like to thank Dunfermline City Hockey Club for organising such a fantastic event. BHF Scotland can only continue its life-saving and life-changing work thanks to money raised from events like this. We urgently need more people like Dunfermline City Hockey Club to join the fight. Together we can make a difference but we can’t do it without you.”
