Scotland’s newest hockey club has received a funding boost thanks to players of a charity lottery.
Dunfermline City Hockey Club was awarded £1765.98 by People’s Postcode Trust, a grant-giving charity, funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
The organisation will use the money to provide additional coaching, kit and equipment for their competitive teams as well as supporting their community coaching sessions.
The three month project will ensure that Dunfermline City Hockey Club can continue to expand their sporting and social activities within the local and wider community ensuring affordable access to hockey for all.
Club Coach Ryan Green said “I can’t thank the players of the postcode lottery enough; the funding award will make a huge difference to us. The award will enable the club to expand on its hugely successful development programme and ensure that our coaching sessions provide the best equipment available. The club has seen a remarkable increase in growth since its formation in 2010 and with this award; it will ensure we continue to stay ahead of the game”.
