Stirling vs City: Sat 30th July 2011

30 Jul 2011

The first pre-season friendly of 2011 saw us play a mixed Stirling team at Forthbank on a hot Saturday afternoon.  The City line up was without a regular keeper, so Gareth Edwards put on the pads an kept a well earned clean sheet.

The pace was frenetic and City experimented with the ‘new’ formation that is to be adopted in the coming season.

Two goals were scored in the first half.  The City scorers  were Adam Rintoul & Alan Green.  However,  during the game City was awarded a penalty.  From deep in the City half the cry “I’ll take it, I’ll take it” was heard.  Alan Griffiths was determined to have his moment of fame and he got it.  The flick went right over the bar.   Shocker.

Mike McInally came on for the second half and subs were rotated.

They had a few chances, but did not look like scoring.

Happy days :)

Score W 0-2
