Super Saturday for City sides – Sat 26th October

26 Oct 2013

Dunfermline City sides faced two trip to Edinburgh at the weekend.  The ones faced Grange 6s Edinburgh Acadamy and the twos faced mid table Edinburgh 4′s at Meggatland.

It was the twos who got the surprise result of the weekend – searching for their second win of the season after a poor run of results.

The twos took the game to Edinburgh from the start – and with Andy Melrose and Graeme Cromb in the Centre of midfield they had a solid looking side.  City were to put on there best performance of the season as they routed Edinburgh by 5 goals to nil.  Graeme Cromb scoring his first ever hattrick with David Sutton and Creag Campbell scoring the other goals. FINAL SCORE CITY (2′s) 5 EDINBURGH 0

City ones not to be totally outshone by the twos made a sterling job of disposing of Grange 6′s.  It took City just 30 seconds to take the lead with Brown setting up Miller for a tap in.  Miller then repaid the favour allowing Brown to tap home – before Innes scored a peach from the edge of the D to make the score 3.0 at half time.  In the second half City continued to dominate and added four further goals – Miller two of them to complete a Hattick and Brown added another to his tally with Ryan Green getting the other.  FINAL SCORE CITY 7 GRANGE 0

12 goals to Nil was the tally for the City sides on Saturday – heres hoping for more of the same as the season progresses.
